On July 23, Venustech Group officially released the 2018-2019 Cyber Security Situation Observation Report (the "Report").
The Report conducted research and analysis of the cybersecurity situation in the first half of 2018-2019. It summarized the many cybersecurity issues faced in the past year and predicted the future development of cybersecurity.
Through the research and analysis of cybersecurity incidents over the past year, the Report draws the following nine development trends of network security:
1. Widely used software and hardware are exposed to several significant vulnerabilities, and exploit period are getting shorter.
2. The trend of malware as a service (MAAS) is apparent, and the underground malware ecosystem is becoming more and more mature.
3. Attacks based on Microsoft Office vulnerabilities and malicious macro exploits are rampant, and hackers prefer software that is widespread and has a higher market share.
4. As more and more attacks are exposed, and the concealment of attacks is greatly enhanced.
5. Targeted ransomware attacks are on the rise, and it is entering the Era of "Agility."
6. Mining attacks have increased significantly and become the best way for hackers to monetize their expertise.
7. The attacks on IoT devices are growing explosively, and the number of IoT worms is several times higher than that of previous years.
8. All kinds of data leakage events occur frequently, and data security is receiving more attention than ever.
